7 November 2026 — primary-source review of stages, timeline and protocol map
Visa Intelligent Commerce stage (What’s live, homepage table, protocol map): was “live”, since “unverified”, judged “on the strength of Visa's reported US transactions and the June 2026 general availability of the Connect on-ramp”. Now: “pilot”, since 2025-12-18. Visa’s own releases describe pilots: hundreds of agent-initiated transactions with partners and US pilots in closed beta (18 December 2025), Connect announced in pilot (8 April 2026), and a “first live pilot” with BILL and Billtrust (20 October 2026). No Visa source found states general availability; the June 2026 Connect claim came from a newsletter and is not stated in Visa’s 10 June 2026 release. The undated protocol-map signal “Visa reports Intelligent Commerce live in the United States” was replaced by the dated 18 December 2025 signal. Sources: Visa, 18 Dec 2025, Visa, 8 Apr 2026, Visa, 10 Jun 2026, Visa, 20 Oct 2026.
Mastercard Agent Pay for Machines stage history (What’s live, timeline): was “pilot” from 2026-06-10 (“Launched with 30+ initial participants; end-to-end pilots with Cloudflare, Coinbase, Base, Ant International, BVNK and AIsa”), and the 10 June 2026 timeline event was staged “product”. Now: “announced” on 2026-06-10, because the launch release names participants but no completed pilots; “pilot” with date “unverified”, because the end-to-end pilots are first reported in Mastercard’s 20 October 2026 brief; early-access from 2026-10-20 unchanged. Sources: Mastercard, 10 Jun 2026, Mastercard, 20 Oct 2026.
Mastercard Agent Pay live date (What’s live, homepage table, protocol map): was “Full US availability for cardholders” in November 2025 (version “US general availability”), sourced to a secondary explainer. Now: “All US cardholders scheduled to be enabled by mid-November 2025” (version “US enablement”), sourced to Mastercard and to the CEO’s 30 October 2025 remarks. Stage live since 2025-11 (month precision) unchanged; no primary source confirming completion was found, and the record says so. Sources: Mastercard, 30 Sep 2025, Digital Commerce 360, 31 Oct 2025.

Mastercard Agent Pay Trust Framework (What’s live, homepage table, protocol map, Agent Pay for Machines article): was “white paper ‘Trust for agentic commerce’” with “five pillars (identity, intent, controls, trusted execution, intelligence)”. Now: a framework that “brings together identity, intent, controls, execution and intelligence”, as worded in Mastercard’s release. The white-paper title was not confirmed in a primary source. Sources: Mastercard, 30 Sep 2026.
AP2 v0.2 (timeline, 101, AP2 article): was “AP2 v0.2 released and donated to the FIDO Alliance; 60+ organisations involved”. Now: the 60+ organisations are attributed to AP2’s September 2025 announcement; Google’s April 2026 post gives no count. Google and FIDO sources added. Sources: Google, 28 Apr 2026, FIDO Alliance, 28 Apr 2026, Google Cloud, 16 Sep 2025.
Amex Agent Purchase Protection (liability): was “It protects eligible cardholders from charges tied to the error of a registered AI agent”. Now: “It is a commitment: Amex says it will protect eligible cardholders …”, with terms and conditions not published and the Agent Registration service described as in development. Sources: American Express, 14 Apr 2026.
UCP checkout (glossary, protocol map): was “UCP-powered checkout went live in US Search and the Gemini app on 15 October 2026”, region “United States (checkout live)”. Now: “Google’s Universal Cart, with checkout tied to UCP, began rolling out to US users in Search and the Gemini app on 15 October 2026”, region “United States (Universal Cart rolling out)”; coverage says Google links to retailers for checkout. No earlier event was removed.
Homepage dates: was a Recent updates list out of order (26 Oct 2026 listed below 28 Apr 2026), next to a table “as of 27 October 2026”. Now: updates are listed newest first, and the table carries the dataset’s generated date. Both original dates were correct: the site launched on 26 October 2026 and was expanded with datasets on 27 October 2026.
